Utah - Uranium Claims
Max has been permitted by the State of Utah and the Bureau of Land Management for a six-hole, 1,200-foot deep drill program on the 3,900-acre Thomas Mountain uranium project in Utah, located 20 miles west of the Town of Delta, and 150 miles southwest of Salt Lake City. The core claims of the project are chistoric Phillips Uranium property originally explored and supervised by Clancy Wendt, Vice President of Exploration for MAX Resource. The drill program will follow up on encouraging drill results (0.05% U3O8 over 100 feet) achieved by Phillips during their drilling in the early 1980's.

The claims, situated east of the Brushman Wellman beryllium mine, have excellent road access. The uranium host rock is identical to the host rock found at the nearby structurally controlled Yellow Chief Mine that produced some 500,000 pounds of uranium. The zone found by Phillips on this property is thought to be the source of the original Yellow Chief mineralization. The mineralization is contained within the mote sediments of a smaller caldera within a major caldera system. The mineralization appears to be structurally controlled along the edge of this caldera and planned exploration will follow up on previous work. Due to the geological formations in the area, the property may be amenable to "in-situ leaching "("ISL"), subject to further exploration. Phillips dropped all its uranium properties following the Three Mile Island accident and the decrease in the price of uranium.
MAX plans to commence drilling as soon as a drill rig becomes available, subject to weather.
